Sound Artists: 6 Chill Songs To Calm And Boost Your Mood

There’s nothing like chill and moody beats to lift your mood.

Below are 5 tracks by talented sound artists that would make you feel chill vibes anytime, anywhere.

'A Moment, A Her' - oriJanus

Think soft beats for studying, light chat, and business meetings. With no vocals for 3:26 minutes, A Moment, A Her is a soft-hitting mix track produced by Soulection artist oriJanus in 2017.

The track sits among 12 other tracks in the compilation project, Promise Once More by Soulection.

Christopher Rives, known as ‘oJ’ off his stage name oriJanus, hails from East Bakersfield, CA, and is a young producer, rapper, and DJ collaborating under a roster of artists via the Soulection collective in LA. Also managed by Wordlyfe, an independent imprint, he regularly posts remix tracks on his Soundcloud including originals to songs like ‘Am I Wrong’ by Anderson.Paak and ‘Gold’ by Brockhampton.

‘Nobody Else’ - Sivey

Want upbeat, groovy dance-like tunes? Try listening to 2019’s ‘Nobody Else’ by Manchester-based artist Sivey - a track packaged in beat breaking rhythms for 7:00 minutes.

“I don’t want nobody else” is the only lyric on the track, tuned, and mixed in-between chill groove sounds from start to finish. The track itself is presented under CoOp Presents.

Sivey regularly releases his music via Soulection as a solo artist in LA and has dropped previous tracks with other labels like Astral Black and Ninja Tune, while performing in cities in Tokyo to the UK. Although his roots originated with hip-hop sound and instrumentals, he stayed diverse for growth in sound production by exploring new sounds, infusing jazz, and obscure 70s beats before carving his lane in the beat breaking movement.

‘Herrmannplatz’ - IAMNOBODI

This slow and evolving track begins with piano and inches into a no-vocal track with beats as deep as the ocean.

For 4:58 minutes, IAMNOBODI, aka artist Dede Ademabua, presents vibey sounds that could put you into any chill mood. The track sits in his 10-song album called ‘Snapshots from Berlin’ that was created in 2014.

IAMNOBODI owns various albums that he’s originally written, produced, cut, and mixed himself. He has been nominated for a Grammy and has worked alongside artists like Nipsey Hussle, Wale, Bryson Tiller, and more. Represented by the United Talent Agency, a pioneering artist and brand agency, his artistry is highly influenced by sounds of soul.

‘Saturn (feat. Kwabs)’ - Nao

The track ‘Saturn (ft. Kwabs)’ by Nao is a sweet as Nao’s solo performances, perfect for a slow day or dance session with your lovebug.

Upon listening, the track combines Nao’s mesmerizing piano and heartfelt singing with Kwabs’ soft vocals. For 4:50 minutes, Nao and Kwabs move listeners on this track, with lyrics like ‘I orbit around the way that you are’ and your ‘constellation circling me’. This song is also the same name to her 2018 album, ‘Saturn’. Don’t be surprised if you discover this on Spotify’s love playlists!

Nao is a London/UK-based singer influenced by local jazz and caught the attention of labels with her talent. Interestingly enough, she instead released a 5-track So Good EP via her own established label Little Tokyo. As she released her 2016 album ‘All We Know’ she gained critical acclaim, a top 20 chart, and was nominated for Best Female Artist at the Brit Awards. ‘Saturn’ (song and album) is only her second album.

‘All Your Secrets’ - Gwen Bunn

No matter if you’re a beat listener or drawn to lyrics and songwriting, ‘All Your Secrets’ by artist and producer Gwen Bunn begins with slow melodies, instantly pulling listeners into Gwen’s persuasive songwriting.

Concluding at 3:20 minutes, the track is slow and inviting, causing listeners to yearn for more. The track sits in an 8-song album called ‘Safe Travels’ which happens to be her debut album after a series of track releases produced for various artists like Wavel IQ, jus., and Anthiny King.
