Rendezvousing for brunch is a downright celebration. And why not celebrate the ultimate brunch in none other than the City of Angels? From unique breakfast bowls to Southern plates, below are top five unique LA brunch hot spots you need to discover right now.

The Ultimate Breakfast Bowl

The stylish and hip breakfast joint EdiBol can be found while you’re strolling in Downtown LA’s Art District. While EdiBol offers a full menu of breakfast, lunch and dinner, their brunch menu offered on the weekends is a flavorful one at best. Beginning at 10AM, the restaurant offers hand-crafted artisan ‘bols’ ranging from chicken and waffles to the sweet fix of Ice Cream CrumBol, a malted pretzel with dark chocolate and vanilla bean ice cream.

Native Knowledge: There’s 2-hour free parking on Santa Fe & 3rd Street. Yes, free parking in LA. A rare find.

The Generous Portion

The two story, dimly lit and trendy restaurant and bar The Tasting Kitchen is situated in the heart of Venice on Abbot Kinney Blvd. Chef Casey Lane and his staff overdelivers on detailed cultural dishes (and secret cocktails!) like the Oxtail hash, served with baked egg and Italian herb sauce and their scrumptious brioche bun burgers paired with seasoned patties. If you’re the swanky type and love good quality brunch and wine, this place is it.

Native Knowledge: The Tasting Kitchen is all about conserving water, so requests will need to be made. As their saying goes, “conserve water. drink wine.”

The Hungry Crowd

Looking for casual dining but a fancy plate? Literally called the “Hungry Crowd”, this low-key Toluca Lake haven offers a unique twist on its brunch menu. Expect to come face to face with interesting Asian fusion dishes aside your favorite chicken and waffle breakfast combos. The cozy cute neighborhood restaurant is usually not overcrowded despite the name, a blessing compared to Brunch Sundays elsewhere. We must also mention the bottom mimosa drink special priced at only $15!

Native Knowledge: The Hungry Crowd’s corn silk tea leaves you with a slender body and healthy mind. Or so they say…

This new healthy Southern restaurant, Rye Fox, hits Fairfax introducing to the neighborhood an additional classy dining experience to brunch plans. Their signature special, a rotisserie chicken and whiskey-fused dish is not to be looked over. The romantic yet sophisticated vibe of the restaurant and bar makes this spot an immediate check-off your brunch-to-be-discovered list and craft cocktails like the “310 Pike” mixed with Victoria Empire coffee is an instant hit for coffee lovers.

The Plant-Based Breakfast

Sage, a plant-based bistro and brewery is a clean green experience altogether. All organic, Sage has grown to over three locations – Culver City, Echo Park, and Pasadena, stemming from the love of cooking, gardening, and food. The original Echo Park location, although smaller than its others, still shares a charm instilled from the old Jensen recreational building and the dairy-free ice cream at the end of a clean green meal is a delight to reckon with.

Native Knowledge: Kombucha on tap!
